When the gym I had been at closed, I was desperate to find a new place to call home. I knew if I didn’t get right back into a new gym I’d fall out of the habit and it would become harder and harder to get myself working out again. I tried out a few places, but when it came to Farmgirlfit, I just knew. I knew being surrounded by all those strong babes cheering each other on was exactly the kind of place I wanted to be.
Farmgirlfit showed me that there is a better gauge for your fitness level than the size of your clothes. This is the first gym I’ve been at that measures progress by adding weight to the bar and not the weight on the scale. Not only have I gotten physically stronger at Farmgirlfit, but they’ve helped me celebrate accomplishments I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to even realize at most other conventional gyms.
My kids (my girls especially). I want them to grow up knowing how important it is to stay strong, and to show them how rad it is to lift heavy stuff.
Hitting 135 on my squat clean!
Lift heavier and run faster! Just kidding, I don’t want to run at all, HA! I do really want to learn how to do a kipping pull-up (maybe for next October?!).

My favorite lift would have to be power clean; least favorite are snatches. 100% snatches. (Can I get an amen Katie?)
The women, obviously. The community at Farmgirlfit is unmatched. Well, that and the swag.
I met my husband at a 20 and under dance club (does anyone remember when those were cool?)…in high school. He’s been my guy ever since.
I’m usually hanging out with Wilson, my favorite little 3-year-old on the planet. Once his big sisters (Mille 9 and Paisley 7) are out of school we’re usually running around to practices or games. 2 nights a week I’m helping momma’s meet their new babies at Sacred Heart (best job ever!). During the summer my husband John and I love camping and getting out on the lake.
The lake. Any lake.
Cafe Rio. Tacos and chips and guac, oh my!
Peanut butter and bananas on an English muffin. Perfection.
Idaho Vandals! And the Zags—but they have plenty of people cheering them on.
4th of July. ‘Merica.

Give it all you’ve got--it’s only an hour. Push yourself, high five your neighbor. Pick a partner who runs as slow as you do (oh wait, is that just me?) and most importantly yes, you need that new top…and that hat looks amazing on you—get that too.
